Minor Threat Sauce

I found this on Pitchfork today.

A taste of Minor Threat.

RIP Stu Nahan

Rest in Peace Stu.

Stu played himself in the memorable dream sequence of Spicoli in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," where Spicoli discusses his plan to "Wing on over to London and jam with the Stones."

LA Times article.

Hank the Tank

Here is a 1985 Flag interview gone sour when the tables are turned on some poor kid. This chump looks scared shitless, I know I would be. Rollins in top form.

The Note

Shredded some ankle slappers this morning on the 9'7" log. Everything was normal until I got out of the water and saw this note on my windshield:

Weird. Anyways, I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.

skate mean, live clean

Amid my usual procrastination while I should be writing papers I stumbled across this gem on the web. A young H Rollins pictured in his high school year book. Enjoy.

BL!SSS Magazine

Get your ass out there and grab the newest issue of BLI!SSS Magazine.

The featured artist is Randy Noborikawa. He is a good friend of EC and the artist who hand paints all of EC's art boards.

When asked by BL!SSS if Randy shaped the boards he gracefully replied: "Hell no, they are shaped by Eric Christenson, a good friend of mine. He is an amazing shaper. He keeps his stealth profile by riding bikes as much as he shapes surfboards, as depicted by his logo. Seriously, he's a master craftsman and he lets me design wacky tails."

Randy and Eric have been preparing for an art show in early 2008 that will feature hand-shaped custom shred sleds of assorted shapes and sizes to serve as canvas' for Randy's unique artwork.

Get ready for some insane demonstrations of artistry and craftsmanship.

dear the great outdoors and the road,

the surf and destroy fools hope to see you again soon. i in particular hope to see you in the very near future.

fondly,
captmouth

p.s. to blackbirds everywhere, we mourn the death of a particularly great blackbird. (i'm sorry, i was protecting a surfboard and camp)

New Shred Sled

As winter marches on, I figured it was time for a new addition to the quiver. Something that felt wintery. Hence,

With hopes of large surf in the forecast I went for a 6'3" step-up, pintail, mini-gun type thing, shaped by Dan Taylor. The spray job is a custom Patrick Bateman stencil I made in the garage.

Now I just need some solid NW swell...this round of swell didn't do much up here in N. OC. There was some size, but lacking shape. :(

****** Camping Trip

We got skunked.

Wetsand said it was going to be 20ft. Surfline said head high. It was chest high junk.

No worries, we found other stuff to do...

Shoot Cans.

Watch the sunset.

Wear lots of neoprene.

We'll be back. Hopefully we will score some waves during this over hyped swell.

Shaka Bra.
