danimal had informed me he'd be thinning out his quiver in the near future, needing some 'real' shots taken before he began the thinning. long story short- we shot the shot (editing it as i type this.. check back tomorrow), & the black mamba is now apart of lightgnars artillery in lovely santa gnarbara, complete with custom danimal artwork: free of charge. this little fried piece of work is going to be my maid at rincon.. clean it up, clean it up!

First Birthday.

I spaced and forgot about svrf&destroy's 1st birthday, August 17.

This date marks our blog's first year in existence.

Read our first post here: Anticipation

If we were to have a birthday cake, I would hope the candle would look like this:

Fly Fat Ass Fly!

My pals and I ventured up to Hollywood last night to try and meet director Kevin Smith aka "Silent Bob" and producer Scott Mosier. As you can tell by the picture it was a success, excuse me and Michael here for looking like a couple of size queens.

We met them at the Crazy for Cult art show at Gallery 1988. We packed in there with a bunch of other fans and checked out some awesome paintings reinterpreting classic cult films. Last night was the opening night hosted by Kevin and Scott but the exhibit runs until September 12th.

Once again here is the website and some directions, it was pretty cool so if you are bored and feel like doin a day in Hollywood by all means go check it out.

BIKEAGE

Holy shit I love the Descendents...

An older video would have been cooler but this one from 97' still rules hard.
Person filming is obviously too busy being rocked by Milo to have kept the band in the frame but the sound quality is great nonetheless. I'm not a loser!

Ricky Blake

I heard about this guy's art from a friend at work. Pretty rad stuff.

This one is partial to me and the boys.

SUP'ers and disgruntled HB Brosephs need not apply.

I thought his style looked familiar, then I saw that he is the dude who does the art for the Surfside Seventies Contest each year.

Check out his blog. Ricky Blake Fine Art

yesterday was fun.
the quality is poor since the images were all so big, maybe i'll make them smaller and do them again. probably not.

Kicks

Stumbled across these custom painted slip ons on the web today.

2nd Homebrew

So my first issue to Beer Advocate finally arrived in the mail today along with the new Surfer's Journal.

Needless to say, whilst reading the Advocate and sipping a pint of my hombrewed Pale Ale, I decided to brew up another one. This time I went for an American Wheat Beer. Hopefully it turns out as well as the Pale Ale did!

Sorry my photos always suck. Thats why we have Tightgnar on the blog. His photography is actually photography. Mine is just, shitty amateur photos that get the point across.

My set up while the beer brews. Reading, writing, drinking, and watching the Dodger game.

First Homebrew and Dodger Game

I had the first sip of my homebrewed Pale Ale on Friday. Bitchin'! I seriously cannot believe it doesn't taste like ass. The first of many to come. I went to the homebrew supply store and picked up the recipe for an American Wheat Beer, so we have that to look forward to.

Sunday 12 of us ventured to Chavez Ravine to see Manny Ramirez don some Dodger Blue. We were treated to him going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs and a home run. He is hitting .615 in his 3 games with the Dodgers. Here is Manny finishing up his trot around the bags.

While I was in line to buy 2 $10 beers, I met some kid in line with a sweet ass tattoo.
