Stoked on Summer

We jammed up LA to see Kyle's show after a long day at San-O on Saturday night.

Too bad we made it there at 9:45. Just enough time to give Kyle a group hug. Epic shit. I think Nevada drank a jug of Carlo Rossi sangria to himself.

Tightner

Kyle has a show coming up on the 17th. John and I are going to go for sure. Let's figure out some carpool situations so we can get party and slam some brews in the parking lot.

Weekend Activities

Saturday morning we posse'd up and rolled down to San-O despite the prevailing south wind and gloominess, a good time was had by all.  Massa Tom and I ended up cruising down to Cy's place where we ate, drank, and conversed. Good times.

Here is a top secret map Cy drew us for maximum shredability. Betcha can't guess where this gem is.

After a slash, we stopped by Surfy Surfy to visit J.P., who has to be one of the nicest dudes around. I give that shop the megashaka of approval. I want a Mini-Merk sooooo bad.

DANNOWAR

I "met" Danny through the erBB and interweb blogging. Snoogins "knows" him through the erBB. He shapes his own boards and hates stuff as much as we do. Hopefully we will cross paths in real life one day.

He just sent me this:

Slacker

You may or may not have noticed my complete lack of posting as of late.

I got hitched, been workin', went to Kauai and Maui, camped in Catalina, turned 25, and went to New York. All in the last 6 weeks.

Needless to say the blog has been on the back burner.

Anyways, the most surf-related thing I have done lately was get some custom-made boardshorts for my Groomsmen.

D&J for Me (my wife and I's initials)
BM for Best Man (Peacefrog)
GM for my Groomsmen (Snoogins and more)

Anyways, here they are. Solid royal blue with white back pocket with snap closure. Made with lots of love by Sato down at Katin Surf Shop. I've known Sato since I got my first job at Katin when I was 15. She said she still thought I was a little boy, she couldn't believe it. Super psyched she was able to sew these up for me. Pretty special.

Custom merrowed edge embroidered patches to boot!

Smell ya later.

Health - We are Water

My friend Dana did the steadicam on this video.

It's not surf related, but it is party.

El Salvador

Our buddy Brett and some of his pals went on a trip to El Salvador. I lurked on his facebook page and found some shots from his trip. There is nothing better than frothing in the soup with your buds, I really dig that photo.

SEWcreative is Motown Bound

My buddy Ian hit me up to help spread the word about his new project he has going on over at SEWcreative.

He is embarking upon a road trip to Detroit, pretty sure they are in Salt Lake City as I type this.

Taken from their site Motown Bound, this is what they are all about.

We at SEWcreative believe Ford is doing great things; from refusing government bail outs to shedding light on homelessness in America through the Invisible People Project. We also believe that we can help Ford come alongside human beings in unique and genuine ways that simultaneously drive real and measurable social change. So... with the help of our good friend Stewart of the Krochet Kids, we are driving out there to let them know!

Life is our journey, this is our mission.

5 days, 5 events, 2600 miles, Costa Mesa to Detroit.

Motorin'!

Take a gander. Also, this is surf related because more than likely, Ian surfs better than you.

Introducing...

Massa Tom!

TJ is a good buddy of ours. We go way back. I've posted some videos and photos of him in the past, his first post is below.

I took this photo of him when we were maybe 15 or 16, somewhere in Maui.

Fuck. It's not working. I'll try later.

Handplane via Brownfish

It has been a good week for receiving shit in the mail. I got my handplane from Brownfish on Saturday. I haven't used it yet, as I am trying to fend off a cold.

Anyways, check out his blog, as well as his handplane blog, Handplane Goodness. I'll throw the links in the list to the right.

It measures 15.5" x 7.5" x .5". I think it is Poplar wood. It has belly through the first 3" followed by a deep single concave through the moontail. Adjustable velcro handstrap with neoprene sleeve and padding. Naturally, I had him stain it in Dodger blue.

Full review to follow once I get wet with it. My crappy photos don't do this thing justice. The photos are crooked, not the board.

Wax Bvddy

We received our Wax Bvddies in mail yesterday. Needless to say, psyched! Cleaning boards, scraping dingleberries, or racking lines...I'm gonna use it for everything!

Big thanks to Greg and the crew at Endless Wave.

Our fiends over at Wax Buddy have a surprise for us. Hopefully the mail man will drop it off in the near future.

Stephen and Leroy the Masochist

Our dear friend Stephen is really fucking party. He enjoys jameson, marlboro reds, performing mind melting guitar solos, and long walks on the beach.

Psychologist: I see here they call you a masochist.
Leroy the Masochist: I like pain.
Psychologist: Can you be specific? What kind of pain do you like?
Leroy the Masochist: Any kind of pain.
Psychologist: Such as?
Leroy the Masochist: I like fights, I've dove through windows, I've eaten light bulbs, I like sharks, any kind of blood. If you gave me a gun, I'd shoot you in the face just to see what it looked like when the bullet hit.
