Call me ignorant....
This is the first I have ever heard of the seminal surf punk band "Surf Punks." A friend at work brought in their 1980, sophomore album, My Beach, and my mind was blown. With songs such as My Wave, Shoulder Hopper, Can't Get a Tan, and Somebody Ripped my Stick, What's not to love???

The album was re-released on CD in 1989. I was 4 and my brother was 1. Needless to say, it wasn't in our collection.
It also looks like the Warriors of Radness or Gonz or whatever the fuck they call themselves conducted an interview a while back with Drew Steele. Take a gander.

First BEAR FACE Show This Saturday
Water Wells For Africa benefit! Local artists will be displaying art, there will be a live acoustic set by Nima Kazerouni, Groovy trip-hop band known as Furcast, as well as a keg of Belmont Brewing Company’s finest beer. Cost is 5.00 all proceeds go to Water Wells For Africa. Im pretty sure we will be going on first so get there around 8PM

Nats really suck
So last night in a game against the first place Florida Fish, a few Washington Nationals players changed jerseys when going into extra innings. If you are as slow as the equipment guys are in D.C. the jerseys are clearly missing the "O" in Nationals. Their jerseys go right along with their 1-10 record for the season.

"Castro Street" chants all night
Met some guy named Jose aka the "Big City Knight" who told my friends and I that we looked like the Z-Boys from Dogtown and asked us where Jay Adams was. Jose also told us how he showed up to opening day at 5 a.m. watched the game, then got arrested in the parking lot afterwards for being too rowdy. (He had the cuff marks to prove it too.) He said he can be found in the left field pavilion at 40 games a season.
I guess there is a gang called the "Pavilion Pimps" and they sit in the left field pavilion every game (standing the whole time) and make calls on people. It didn't take long for the Pimps to be escorted out by security tonight.
Best call of the night: "Fuck the Giants and those nasty ass Halloween colors!"

Visioneers...
Pretty stoked that this movie is almost out...I am a huge fan of Zach Galifianakis and he has the lead role in this film. If you have not heard of Zach youtube "The Vodka Movie" part 1-3, but you might recognize him from numerous films that he has been in.
The movie is about a guy living in a world where people spontaneously combust (EXPLODE!!!) when they show certain dream patterns... one day your alive the next day BOMB!!!

In your opinion, What type of longboard design could be trend in 2009?
1)i think 1/8-3/16" thinner boards will prevail.
narrow noses will continue to be popular, also. if they're done
right they noseride really well.
i think the modern longboarder wants to carry his/her
style on heavy classic boards
to a little lighter application so that he/she can increase
sensitivity, maneuverbility and be able to manipulate
situations on a wave more quickly and easily. classic
outlines and flatter entry rockers will still be chosen but w/ more
versatility in mind. nothing extreme but 6oz glass will be chosen
over volan for '09, i think.

2) the most important thing for me is too accomplish what the
customer was seeking. blending style and functionality is
extremely important for me, also. i make each board as if it was
my personal or for tom curren (my favorite surfer). with that being said i never take shortcuts or put a time limit on a surfboard. i want thecustomer and myself included to be really happy and satisfied about what was ccomplished.

to them- classic or more high performance. if it's high performance i would suggest my
comp model and if it's classic perhaps a mod sled or pistolero. but i try to make all my longboards
easy to surf with no querks or weird dynamic. with that being said, i think my comp, daddy 0, mod sled and pis tolero
are all good for beginners, intermediate, and advanced surfers. with beginners
i will adjust volume and length to favor stability, though. for intermediate and advanced surfers width and thickness are very
important so that they can reach they're full potential. this is done through experience shared, wave type, body type, and
personal style.
