CA to vote on marijuana taxation & regulation

And you probably thought those sketchy dudes with clipboards saying "legalize cannabis" were blowing smoke . . . . gahhhhhhhh. But its going to be really interesting to see how this all plays out.

"The Tax & Regulate Cannabis 2010 campaign has just achieved a major victory in its efforts to legalize marijuana for all adults in California -- they have gathered the signatures necessary for inclusion on the state's November ballot....

This win means that Californians will be the first in the nation to decide whether they believe marijuana ought be taxed and regulated for all adults over 21, much the same way alcohol is.

The drug reform movement's eyes will be on California next year, because many advocates believe that if the initiative passes, many other states could follow.

Support for marijuana legalization is at an all-time high, with polls ranging from 44 to 52 percent national support. In California, where marijuana has been legalized for medical use since 1996, 56 percent support legalization."

The Mixed Platter

This is what I call a mixed platter. I make them when I feel like snacking on something but theres not really anything to eat in the fridge, or if i can't decide what I want. Tonight I chose muenster cheese, chips, turkey, an onion slice, a hard boiled egg, and some tuna. This is one of my weaker ones as I didn't have many options. I like to eat them with my fingers because it makes me feel like Denethor, the last Steward of Gondor. You know that scene in Return of the King when he is grubbing out and Pippin sings him that sad song all the while his son Faramir is getting aced? Yeah, that.

Tube Dodging 101

This was taken yesterday at a not so secret north county OC spot. Me and 2 other guys out on the entire stretch of beach. I caught 3 waves in a hour and a half. This was the first and biggest one.

I was a 1 pump chump. Bottom turn, pump, and straighten out before the closeout gets ya.

I rode my new bonzer and I couldn't be happier with it.

Nor Cal Adam

Adam is a So. Cal to Nor Cal transplant for school.

I met up with him and Julio last year over New Year's to surf OBSF. It was head high, a foot or two overhead on the sets and freezing with offshore winds.

I wore a 4/3, booties, and a hood and rode a 6'0".

Adam wore a 4/3 and rode a fish.

I was creepin' on his facebook and saw this gem from yesterday.














Apparently, the board he is on is some resurrected 8'6" gun with a dolphin airbrushed on it.
