Andy has been one of my favorite surfers forever, not only because he rips and wins and gave Jimmy Slade a few brutal beat downs but because Andy was Honest, Genuine, Fierce and spoke from his heart. He pissed on Cliches....He was the A. Dixon of surfing! All the genuine, hardcore guys are leaving or mad at shit, AI, Dora, Wardo, Greco....
agreed chico, definite bummer. the dude could lay down some seriously brutal gouges/hacks whatever the hell you wanna call em. first thing that comes to mind when i think of andy irons is that shot of him from a year or so ago on that big right just doing the gnarliest mid face grab rail turn on a dime and he has that super intense look on his face, it was either a billabong ad or one of those stupid 'how to' things. anyways, damn.
