Hockey n' Jarritos

Went to the Kings v. Rangers game last night with a couple of dudes. Seeing as it was a New York game at least half of the crowd was rockin a Rangers jersey. Kings ended up losing in OT but it was a good game nonetheless. The highlight of the night came when some yuppie accidentally kicked over this ladies hot chocolate and did nothing about it, soon to be followed by said ladies fully tattooed, pierced, and pony-tailed husband tapping him on the shoulder and informing him that he had "five minutes to get my wife a new hot chocolate before I get thrown out of here for beating your ass." Needless to say I've never seen a gentlemen rush to get hot chocolate so fast in my life. The beverage was then immediately knocked over again by their son.

Before the game La$er and myself also made a trip to the 99 cent store and stocked up on Jarritos, crucifixion candles, and hand grippers. Very Crucial.

Since the downfall of the SoCal hardcore/metal scene, there have been few bands that made the cut into my regular playlist . . So when a new "heavy" band makes it into my playlist the stars truly do have to be perfectly aligned. Over the past 2-3 years I have created a habit of listening to Cloudkicker on a pretty steady basis, shit gets me pumped in a psychedelic sort of way . . . if that makes any sense at all. But getting to the point Ben Sharp just released a new Cloudkicker EP; and like all good bands should he released it online for FREEEEEEEEE!!!!! The new ep is way crunchy. Also their debut full length is posted online for free too. As Bassist Beau said "Listen on headphones, loud, on drugs" hopefully Ben will finally land his plane so they can play another show. Go listen!

Wallpaper

Throughout middle school and high school, I had managed to cover every square inch of the walls in my room with the pages of Surfer, Surfing, Longboard Magazine, etc.

When I moved out to attend college. I ripped it all down. Huge sheets of paper. I would cover up old photos with new ones. Some parts of the wallpaper were probably 4 or 5 pages thick.

Here is one little section of the wall. Mostly adorned with FREE ads and photos of Joel Tudor.

I zoomed in on the photo and there are some Tom Wegener, Wingnut, and Beau Young photos up there too.

Top right is a photo of Pancho Sullivan laying down some rail on a garage sale board.

The very top is a poster of Noah Johnson at Waimea.

There is an "I <3 A's Burgers" bumper sticker, a birthday card from my little brother who was probably 5 or 6 at the time. It says "Daniel is surfing" on it.

Yes, the bottom right is an autographed photo of the whole BZ bodyboard team. (Douche, TJ, and I were the only one's who surfed. Everyone else was a dick dragger.)

motivation

It takes alot more for me to get pumped these days, and if i've learned anything at all from www.realultimatepower.net, it's that getting pumped is crucial for succesful living.

Robert Hamburger explains - "Now I have a call to arms. There comes a time in everybody's life where one must choose to be pumped or not. That time is probably now. All the stuff I've been talking about-the ninjas, the dogs, the hippos-it's really all about being pumped.

The fundamental question for humanity is, Do you want to be that boring guy at the shoe store who just takes whatever shoe the lady gives him? Or do you want to be that bad ass dude who just laid a log on top of a fax machine for no reason at all? I think the choice is simple.

If you understand what the heck I'm talking about, then you have to go and get as pumped up as possible and record it on film to get other people pumped up. It doesn't matter what you're doing. My buddy Scott has been in Bali basically since we graduated college in '07. He just sent me these photos today. That's him stuck inside on the second photo. Looks like super fun nuggety nugz out there.
